BACKGROUND

This project was for a client in the HR software space. The goal was to move a key commercial landing page from position 18 to a top-five ranking for a commercially valuable keyword by identifying and closing every specific on-page gap against the current top 10 results.

I built the plan across seven elements: title tag, meta description, H1 and heading hierarchy, body copy, internal linking, schema markup, and technical and UX factors. Every recommended change was documented with a before specification, an after specification, and the rationale, so the implementation team had a single reference document covering every decision rather than a general list of improvements.

The result was a complete on-page optimization brief covering a move from 480 words to a 1,050-word target, three new schema types, five internal link replacements with exact anchor text, and a Core Web Vitals fix for an LCP above the acceptable threshold, all traceable to specific gaps in the competitive analysis.
